TOXIC HOLOCAUST Live 20 Dec 07 Tacoma WA

TOXIC HOLOCAUST - Hell's Kitchen, Tacoma, WA - 20 December 2007

This show was part of a small West Coast tour with members of ZEKE and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD handling the instrument duties. Normally Joel handles all the instruments, but here he just puked out the vocals. Certainly one of the best shows I've seen all year. Too bad the place was nearly empty. I even spead the word to some metal 'hipsters' I know, but they didn't show. Too bad, as the TOXIC HOLOCAUST brand of thrash would kill those posers dead! It was a non-stop thrash holocaust. And my favorite song, '666', ended the show.

Thanks Joel! Please come back!

MORTUOR Nekro Schizo 3"CDr

MORTUOR 'Nekro Schizo' 3" CDr (Nil By Mouth, NBM03CDR)

This treasure was one of the few things I've won on eBay. And that was only because the seller listed this under the 'Buy It Now' option. I'm not sure I can thank that seller enough. What we have here is one of the finest 3" of a cdr that I have heard. MORTUOR thanks Marco Corbelli, and the Italian scene, in the booklet. Each of the 4 tracks shows influences from the best that ATRAX MORGUE has ever done. There's usually a simple synth rumble or rhythm with hellish vocals over the top. The 2nd track, '6 Slashes For Sister', has a strong MB feel to it's rhythm and sound. It had me waiting for the suffocating machine to implode.

KADAVER Infected With Feelings CDr

KADAVER 'Infected With Feelings' CDR (2006, The Eastern Front ASH!!!003)

Review:

This disc comes in a handmade digipak. It is limited to 111 hand-numbered copies.

On this release, KADAVER follows a definite medical theme. The sounds emanate from the warm, dead body. KADAVER proves he is equally adept at roasting the listener with hot waves of static, as he is at chilling the listener with cold ebbs of morbidity. Keep your ears open for the future sounds of KADAVER.

Keep in mind that no musical instruments were used in any of these recordings.

KADAVER Dissected CDR

KADAVER 'Dissected' CDR (2006, The Eastern Front ASH!!!004)

Review:

First off, this disc comes in a handmade digipak and is numbered of 66 copies. They might be all gone by now.

There are 6 tracks on here, all vastly different from each other, but still conveying the feeling of darkness, solitude, and loneliness. Not in some bland, goth fashion. I'm talking about the kind of loneliness you might feel knowing the human race is extinct. Now what do you do? You slip this disc into your CD player and cut deep into your flesh with the razor blade, so kindly supplied by The Eastern Front. Some of the tracks on here include sparse rhythms. Instead of summoning you to the dance floor, they only remind you of the bleak darkness of decaying factories.

KADAVER Abandon All Hope CDr

KADAVER 'Abandon All Hope' CDR (2006, NOIR Series NOIR01)

Review:

This is some of the best death industrial that i have ever heard. I can see KADAVER releasing material on Self Abuse Records or Slaughter Productions. At this early stage, KADAVER is quickly closing in on both ATRAX MORGUE and SKIN CRIME.

This first disc is interesting. It only has two lengthy tracks. The sounds of death on this black disc slowly evolve over the course of time. Nothing repetitive or boring. Only the different colors of darkness.

This is limited to 70 copies and comes in a DVD case.

SQUAMATA Reviews

SQUAMATA 'At Home With Your Kids' CDR

Review:

This CDR has a nice blend of junk drones and harsh noise. It almost sounds like it came from Japan, but it was really made in Finland! This one is certainly my favorite because it feels themed around murder. It consists of 10 tracks that never get dull.

SQUAMATA 'Disorganisation' CDR
Review:

This CDR comes in a slim plastic case with more red & black images. It was recorded in the Autumn/Winter of 2005/2006. This one has actual track titles and has an odd/medical feel to it. But the sounds are not clean and precise. In fact, i feel a bit of tension in these recordings. I hear a bit of a K2 influence, also.

Both of these CDRs are very highly recommended.
